neuromuscular advances

TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome) is the misalignment of the two joints that attach the jaw to the skull. It can cause a variety of symptoms such as:
  • Headaches;
  • Neck and shoulder pain;
  • Facial or jaw pain;
  • Clicking or popping in the jaw; and
  • Ringing in the ears.

form and function

Modern dental technology and computer diagnostics make it possible to accurately diagnose the physiologic position of the jaw and the muscles that help it function. We can identify misalignments by looking at the muscles of the face, listening to the joint's movement with a special sonographic device, and tracking the motion of the jaw.

Our goal is to find the position of physiologic rest for the mouth. Once this position is established, we will build a custom mouth guard that helps reposition your joint to this optimal state.

For more information on TMJ, see
Dr. Harding's Blog.

For mild TMJ, this device can be worn at night. Severe cases require a more precise mouth guard worn around the clock.
