Today’s dentures are custom designed with choices about the size, shape and color that can be closely matched to your original teeth through old photos and computer animation. You can even choose to improve your smile through denture design. They are then constructed in a laboratory with porcelain restorations that mimic the strength and translucency of natural teeth.

An implant-supported denture can be used when a person doesn't have any teeth in the jaw, but has enough bone in the jaw to support implants. An implant-supported denture has special attachments that snap onto attachments on the implants.

Some disadvantages to dentures include movement on the bottom and the potential to lose taste. But a key advantage is affordability. Dentures can also be used initially and later replaced with implants.
